The Tide Machine

During 2010 we created a working prototype of The Tide Machine which was actively tested on Wednesday the 28th of April at Twelve Noon and Twelve Midnight on Kingholm Quay in Dumfries. This testing took the form of an exciting performance event with live music presented by Oceanallover with over five hudred people coming to watch. Following the event an array and assortment of community interactions was percieved to circulate around the Quay, to the edification, intoxication and elightenment of all present, including a major project from Dumfries Academy pupils.

The next major moment for us was a further exploration at the Surge Festival for Conflux in July, on the 24th & 25th at six hours and thirty minutes of the evening. We are keen to take The Tide Machine project into exciting locations and to turn our experiment into a fully functioning phenomena so if you have any suggestions or requests then please contact us!

The Tide Machine will be seen several times in 2011 between May and October.

As part of "Pitch" the students from Adam Smith College Physical Theatre Course will present the first outing of the Tide Machine in 2011. Pitch is a Conflux event and allows emerging artists to show excerpts from new performance work. Alex will be working with the students along with Marion Kenny and Rudi Zygadlo. The event runs from 4.45pm onwards.
